In this article, a new attempt at explaining the “‘‘w”-bird in pBM 9997, VI, 8, is undertaken. As it turns out, the word could be a metathesis for the “‘w‘ ”-bird from the coffin texts. Accordingly, the “‘w‘ ”-bird is documented even in the New Kingdom
