Ezt a konferencia-felhívást tulajdonképp csak azért teszem közzé, hogy megmutassam, hogyan ne szervezzünk konferenciát. Amikor ugyanis a címet megláttam, nagyon belelkesedtem, de azután szomorúan konstatáltam, hogy még mindig vannak olyan "kutatóközpontok", akiknek nem tűnt fel, hogy Anatólia, a hettita utódállamok Szíriában vagy épp Nyugat-Irán szintén az ókori Kelet részei. Holott egy várossal odébb, Tel Avivban működik az egyik neves hettitológus kutatógárda...

We are pleased to call for papers at a conference on The Ancient Near East in the 12th-10th centuries BCE, to be held in Haifa in May 2010. Between December 21st and January 31st, we will welcome the submission of abstracts. Papers should be proposed for one of the sessions listed below. You may contact Prof. Gershon Galil (mgm@013net.net) with any initial inquiries. Each session will be a total of 100 minutes and would have three speakers: one invited talk of 40 minutes, and two talks on the topic of 20 minutes each, plus a discussion of 20 minutes.
